I just read an article on Yahoo! Pets that gave some real good basic advice on when to get your pet to the vet. Watch for these symptoms: Excessive vomiting.  This could mean poisoning and could be very serious if not treated right away. Excessive diarrhea.  A couple loose stools aren’t much to worry about but if diarrhea persists and your pet is losing weight and is dehydrated, get to the vet.
